Welcome to Bettering Me Counseling Services LLC (BMCS) — where healing begins with courage and intention. My name is Lamonte “Monte” Foreman-Powell, the owner and founder of BMCS, a Black, LGBTQ+, and veteran-owned mental health practice committed to providing culturally affirming, trauma-informed care.

Our team of dedicated therapists provides support to individuals, couples and families. We specialize in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma. We offer EMDR therapy as one of our evidence-based approaches. We are also an affirming, LGBTQ+ inclusive practice. In sessions, we aim to create a warm, welcoming, and confidential space where you can explore what’s getting in the way of your well-being and work toward solutions that are tailored to your specific needs.
